VMC GALA TO HONOR THE “BEST OF THE BEST” VOLUNTEERS

MORRISTOWN, NJ - Volunteers feed the homeless at soup kitchens, help at race events, offer more than petting for abandoned animals at local shelters, and prepare baskets of food for the needy. With very few exceptions, non-profit Board members take their commitments very seriously, showing up time and again to offer insight and expertise. A growing number of youth volunteers are stepping up for unpaid volunteer "jobs" helping with local program development, event planning or simply adding the force needed behind the scenes. For the young and young- at- heart, volunteerism attracts people from all spectrums of society and provides the energy that powers many of the services charities value most.

MORRISTOWN, NJ (September, 2008) - For nearly two decades, VMC, the Volunteer Management Centers, has successfully managed two community outreach programs called Telephone Reassurance and Friendly Visitor. Trained volunteers improve the lives of homebound seniors and disabled persons by providing companionship, socialization opportunities and important information through regularly scheduled phone calls and/or visits.
