PRESS RELEASES
9/30/2008 VMC GALA TO HONOR THE "BEST OF THE BEST" VOLUNTEERS
VMC GALA TO HONOR THE "BEST OF THE BEST" VOLUNTEERS
MORRISTOWN, NJ (September, 2008) - Volunteers feed the homeless at soup kitchens, help at race events, offer more than petting for abandoned animals at local shelters, and prepare baskets of food for the needy. With very few exceptions, non-profit Board members take their commitments very seriously, showing up time and again to offer insight and expertise. A growing number of youth volunteers are stepping up for unpaid volunteer "jobs" helping with local program development, event planning or simply adding the force needed behind the scenes. For the young and young- at- heart, volunteerism attracts people from all spectrums of society and provides the energy that powers many of the services charities value most.
When the truly selfless deserve recognition, Volunteer Management Centers, Inc., (VMC), based in Morristown, willingly steps up to the plate. A non-profit organization dedicated to advancing effective volunteerism, VMC marks a milestone this year and plans the 35th Anniversary Outstanding Volunteer Recognition Dinner; "Linking Volunteers for 35 Years" awards banquet to take place at the Meadow Wood Manor, Thursday evening, November 13th.
Having reached out to the more than 500 non-profit agencies and 300 businesses it's served - including government and faith-based organizations - nominations for outstanding volunteers have been pouring in since mid-August from a diverse field. To make this event truly memorable, VMC seeks sponsors and will engage the services of a professional printer to create a commemorative Journal. Ads are being solicited through October 24th.
Sizes offered range form the Premier centerfold and inside cover pages to the all-important business card size. A special 20% discount is offered for fellow non-profit organizations, corporate partners, churches, schools and government agencies. In addition to helping defray costs, this Journal will feature personal dedications meant to inspire others to follow the lead of selected honorees and supporters. Please visit www.vmcnj.org to obtain advertising forms and/or sponsor the event.
VMC is dedicated to advancing effective volunteerism and offers a one-stop shop for finding just the right volunteer opportunity. Utilizing powerful on-line volunteer placement tool available via their website, www.vmcnj.org, VMC also adds a personal touch in helping find group opportunities. It facilitates nearly 100,000 volunteer referrals to the community each year for hands-on individual volunteers or group projects. VMC's mission is to recruit, refer, train and recognize volunteers through programs designed to maximize and mobilize human resources to meet community needs. Thus, VMC has earned a reputation in the North Jersey region for being a strong advocate for developing life-long volunteerism.
At this time, VMC is seeking more volunteers for their on-going programs as well as for the upcoming banquet to ensure success. To volunteer and be sure to find an opportunity to spark most interests, visit www.vmcnj.org or call 973-538-7200.
