VMC has established collaborative groups of nonprofit agencies, civic groups, educational forums and faith-based organizations to share successes, challenges, needs and opportunities. CHAIN members enjoy many benefits, including:
- Grant writing support for shared funding opportunities within your CHAIN; - Listing on the CHAIN members website with current information regarding your agency and volunteer needs; - Marketing of your agency through VMC-initiated volunteer fairs, on corporate intranets, at community events, on-line, in the media and through service organization newsletters; - Preferred access to corporate volunteer and giving groups with the opportunity to promote your agency, receive private funding and connect to new businesses; - Useful access information to communicate with prospective volunteers, including emails, addresses, phone numbers, corporate affiliation, etc.
The Healthy Living CHAIN launched this summer, and the Women’s Health and Safety CHAIN is kicking off at the end of this month. Upcoming CHAINs are directed to agencies addressing the issues of hunger, housing, animal rescue, substance abuse, wildlife rehabilitation, employment, environmental conservation, historic sites and farming/fresh foods.
This new program is available for a small membership fee to all non-profit agencies to become more engaged with our volunteer center, more capable of connecting and networking within the greater community, and more effective in finding volunteers, fund raising and building relationships with area businesses, schools, houses of worship and service organizations.
Orientation meetings explain how the CHAIN can work for your agency and what VMC will do to help you maximize your resources and minimize your expenses. We encourage you to attend one of these meetings before joining a CHAIN. For more information, call Georgina Tozzini at 973-538-7200 ext. 17 or email her at
